Frequently asked questions

Who should sign up for my practice’s Jane account?

The account should be created by the person who owns the practice, since they will be the Account Owner and be considered the legal custodian of the data in the account. If you have multiple staff or practitioners, you can add them to the account with varying levels of access.

What do I need before signing up?

You’ll need your email address (preferably your business address since this is where invoices & notifications will go!), a Visa or Mastercard, and some basic info like clinic/practice name, location, and website.

When will I be billed?

Jane bills on the first business day of each month for the month ahead. Your first invoice will look a little different than your following invoices, as it will include the first full upcoming month and a prorated amount for the month you signed up.

How long does it take to set up a Jane account?

Creating your account takes about 5-10 minutes, depending on how long you spend choosing your Jane URL. 😉 Full setup time will vary based on how you run your practice and how much data you’re bringing over.

While there’s a step-by-step tutorial you can follow in-app, we encourage you to take advantage of our free 1-on-1 call to walk through your setup with a Jane expert. If you’re moving from another system, Jane’s import team will help with that too.

How do additional licenses work?

Each staff member who takes appointments will need a paid seat (we refer to these as “licenses”) in your Jane account. Staff who don’t take appointments (such as admin, accountants, or billers) can be added for free.

Staff members with 24 or more booked hours on the schedule will require a full Jane license, while those with less than 24 booked hours will need a half Jane license.

You can update your license count at any time, and Jane will automatically apply a prorated credit or charge.

Do I need to commit to a contract?

Nope! Jane works on a flexible, month-to-month subscription. You can update your plan or license count anytime. If you’re stuck in a contract that’s preventing you from switching, please let our team know. please let our team know.

What support is available during setup and after?

You’ll have access to a free 1-on-1 setup consultation, help from Jane’s import specialists, online training modules, a demo clinic, and a library of guides and videos. Support is available by phone, email, or chat, six days a week.

Is Jane right for my type of practice?

Will switching interrupt my practice?

Jane is designed to make switching as smooth as possible. You can set up your schedule, profiles, and online booking before going live. Jane can also import your patients, appointments, and charts to reduce downtime. If you have specific questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team.

What if I already have data in another system?

Our import team can help you out! Once you’ve signed up, you can get started on your data import. Booking a free 1-on-1 setup call will also be helpful to make sure you’re getting started with everything you need.
